Linden, October 25, 2024 – ALTERNATE aTTaX will not be fielding a professional CS2 team in 2025 for the time being. Instead, the focus will be on sustainably developing and professionalizing the Evo project.
Since the founding of ALTERNATE aTTaX in 2003, Counter-Strike has been an essential part of our organization. Over the past two decades, our teams have successfully competed for titles in numerous national and international tournaments, shaping the history of our organization. Currently, both a professional team and our ambitious Evo team represent us in competition.
Looking ahead to 2025, we have decided to undertake a strategic realignment and will therefore no longer maintain a CS2 professional team. The reasons for this decision are manifold. They are related, among other factors, to the tense economic situation, the current state of the CS2 ecosystem, and the previously mentioned realignment of our strategy.
Our goal is to build and professionalize the Evo team sustainably in order to form a competitive professional team in the medium to long term. In the meantime, our current Counter-Strike professional team will, of course, continue to receive comprehensive support. Additionally, the players have been given permission to start exploring new opportunities for the upcoming year.
"Our decision may initially seem like a setback, but it opens up the opportunity for us to explore new avenues and redefine our commitment to Counter-Strike," says Lennart Kreuter, Project Director at ALTERNATE aTTaX.
An official and appropriate farewell for the team will follow at the end of the year. However, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the players for their commitment and tireless dedication.
